### Summary
The **Fort Campbell Child, Youth, and School (CYS) Services** recognizes the challenges of our Soldiers and their Families. By offering quality programs for children, youth and students, CYS supports the Army Family Covenant by reducing the conflict between mission readiness and parental responsibility. Programs include daycare programs at your garrison and in your local community, school-age services and online tutoring programs. CYS Services also has teen programs, in-home childcare, youth sports, and more.
**Child, Youth, and School (CYS) Services** are a wide range of quality programs to help Army Families meet their parental challenges and maintain their mission readiness. Whenever you need it and wherever you are, CYS is prepared to make life better for Army Families.
***Positions are located at the following locations which include the hours of operation for each facility:***
***Child Development Center:*** Watters CDC #1, Watters CDC #2, Eagles CDC, Gardner Hills CDC, Fitness CDC, Part Day Preschool, Tennessee CDC, Strong Beginnings
* Must be willing and available to work between the hours of 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
***School Age Center:*** Airborne SAC, Bastogne SAC, Gardner Hills SAC
* Must be willing and available to work a flexible schedule, to include split shifts between (5:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday.
***Youth Services:*** Middle School/Teen Club
* Must be willing and available to work between the hours of 5:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
***Kids On Site:***
* Must be willing and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays (this includes Military Training and Federal)
* Must be willing and able to travel up to 4-hours away AND stay overnight to provide childcare at events in the following locations: St. Louis, Gatlinburg, Alabama, and Sevierville
**NOTE: Selectee must be willing and available to work during the above hours of operation to include nights, weekends, and Holidays.**
The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is **Fort Campbell, KY and surrounding areas.** (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)
This is a "Flexible" position (0-40 hours) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans.

### Responsibilities
* Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years.
* Supervises children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events.
* Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques. Interacts professionally with staff members, parents, and local installation command personnel.
* Assists in planning, coordinating, and conducting activities for program participants, including group as well as individual child activities.
* Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedule.

### Qualifications
**All Candidates must:**
* Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
* Be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
* Be 18 years of age at time of appointment.
***To Qualify for Child and Youth Program Assistant (Entry Level 2), CY-1702-01***
**Candidate must:**
* Possess High School diploma or GED certificate.
* Be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
**To Qualify for Child and Youth Program Assistant (Skill Level 3), CY-1702-01**
**Candidate must:**
* Meet Entry-level 2 requirements
**And in addition to the above, candidate must possess:**
* Three (3) months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus Army or other military service Entry Level Training as evidenced by service-issued Certificate of Completion.
**- OR -**
* Six (6) months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus nine (9) semester hours of college credit with course content directly related to the age group to which assigned, for example:
*Child Development Centers:* Early Childhood Education/Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education.
*School Age:* Elementary Education, Child Development, Youth Development, Special Education.
*Youth Services:*Youth Development, Secondary Education, Human Development, Youth Program Administration, Recreation, Physical Education, or directly-related behavioral or cultural science (developmental psychology, child psychology/sociology, sociology of the family, gender identity, parenting. General psychology/sociology coursework is not qualifying).
NOTE: One year vocational certificate in child care or equivalent to other child/youth programs meets the intent of the education requirement
***To Qualify for Child and Youth Program Assistant (Target Level 4), CY-1702-02***
**Candidate must:**
* Meet Entry-level 2 requirements
**And in addition to the above, candidate must possess:**
* Eighteen (18) months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus Army or other military service Foundation Level Training as evidenced by service-issued Certificate of Completion.
**- OR -**
* Possess eighteen (18) months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus an associate's degree or at least 60 semester hours of college credit which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content directly related to the age group to which assigned, for example:
*Child Development Centers:* Early Childhood Education/Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education.
*School Age:*Elementary Education, Child Development, Youth Development, Special Education.
*Youth Services:* Youth Development, Secondary Education, Human Development, Youth Program Administration, Recreation, Physical Education, or directly-related behavioral or cultural science (developmental psychology, child psychology/sociology, sociology of the family, gender identity, parenting. General psychology/sociology coursework is not qualifying).
**OR one of the following:**
1. A bachelor's degree or at least 120 semester hours which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content as indicated above.
2. Possess and maintain one of the following directly related to the age group of the position to which assigned: Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Military School Age Credential, Army Youth Practicum, or other nationally recognized Youth Development Credential.
