As a Senior Business Analyst, you will thrive as you manage a data warehouse solution for Episodes of Care, Tennessee Health Link (Health Home), and PCMH. You will be a primary contributor in extracting key data elements to support provider questions and issues, while developing analytical trends based on cost and metrics for these programs. This is a unique Senior Business Analyst role where you will help establish business requirements and processes to create data solutions on a fun, challenging, and fast paced team. Primary Responsibilities: Senior Business Analyst is responsible for working in conjunction with OPTUM, a United Health Group company, to ensure that information is transferred to the data warehouse correctly and appropriately Produce required reports by creating SQL algorithms to data mine members, providers, costs, metrics, State requests, and reconsideration appeals Focus on driving productivity and quality to aide internal and external partners in achieving goals by providing data and analysis to guide decision-making and improve communication and understanding with internal and external partners Analyze UHC's Episodes of Care, Tennessee Health Link, and PCMH data files for quality, quantity, and accuracy Use SQL skills to identify data anomalies and trends to help manage the Payment Reform program to achieve desired outcomes Perform cost and metrics trend analyses for internal and external partners Develop, collect, and analyze data to support fact-based decisions and proactively implement process improvements Use metrics, excellent time management skills, and leadership skills to ensure business objectives and goals are met Support, engage and lead teams to solve problems using data Engage and partner with analysts and leaders across the business to identify data and information used for problem solving and proactive improvement Develop and pioneer approaches to emerging industry trends Contribute to large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives Motivate and inspire other team members Organize and execute multiple recurring and ad hoc tasks and projects at one time Troubleshoot and solve problems with an analytical mindset The question is how effective can you be in interpreting and analyzing large amounts of information from multiple sources and use it to tell a meaningful story? The challenge will be to manage outcomes of various studies that include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending and then presenting information for operational and business planning, all while adapting to change quickly. Required Qualifications: BS/BA in a related field (finance, mathematics, computer science, engineering or other quantitative field) 2+ years of experience with SQL data query language 2+ years of data reporting/analysis experience 2+ years of managing data marts/data mining experience to support business decisions Experience assessing business requirements documents Experience in communicating and presenting to leadership, State of Tennessee or matrix partners Excellent critical thinking Ability to maintain understanding of numerous client processes in a distributed environment 2+ years of experience of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Proficiency in performing data analytics Preferred Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Healthcare and/or Medicaid experience Experience with UHC Community & State platforms Eager to learn new methods of analysis and programs Process driven and detail oriented Possess excellent time management and prioritization skills in order to meet multiple deadlines; comfortable working on a small, fast-paced teamCareers at UnitedHealthcare Community & State.
